Holiday Gift Guide For HIM

Need a gift for the special guy(s) on your list?!

I've got you covered this year! Whether you're shopping for your husband, boyfriend, son, brother, or Dad... you'll be sure to find something they love! Everything on this list is something that I have bought for either Jacob or some other family member over the last few years. You can't go wrong with any of these things! This was one of my most requested gift guides this year and last year and always one that's helpful because let's be honest... guys are actually super hard to shop for. You unfortunately can't just get them jewelry and call it a day πŸ˜‚These gifts also work for birthday's and anniversaries too!

So what should you buy?

1. A guy can never have too many button downs! This one is actually part of the Nordstrom sale right now and SUCH a good price. I bought Jacob this same shirt in a different print for his birthday this year and he loved it! It's true to size and a really good fit. It looks great paired with a jacket for dressier occasions or a vest for more casual weekend wear. Shop it here now.
2. Everyone loves a Yeti cup! Whether it's coffee, water, or their favorite afternoon drink... these cups work for it all. And you can even get some use out of it yourself πŸ˜‰Shop it here now.

3. Speaking of Yeti... these coolers are amazing for days on the beach, boat rides, or tailgating! They work wonders and are great to have handy. Shop it here now.
4.  I got Jacob one of these bluetooth speakers last year and he loves it! We always use it when he's grilling outside or when we make a fire in the back yard. They're great for outside or inside use and super easy to use when you connect through the bluetooth on your phone. Shop it here now.

5. Jacob got some of these last year and he uses them ALL of the time. If your husband travels a lot, these are also great for flights. I'm also linking a case for them that has a clip to attach to a bag and it's under $10! Shop it here now.
6. I seriously think Jacob has like 6 pairs of these exact same shoes. Yet they still appear on his Christmas or birthday list every single year because he literally wears the soles off of them. He wears them every day and dresses them up and down! They are also true to size. Shop it here now.

7. I bought Jacob this pullover for his birthday this year and was SO impressed with the quality! It was the first time I had purchased a Nordstrom brand pull over so I wasn't too sure. However, I was very happy with it because the quality is so good! It's a great price too. Shop it here now.

8. Like I said, a guy can never have too many button downs! This one is part of the Nordstrom sale too and the same fit as the first one I linked. Shop it here now.
9. These are the best vests in the world for both guys and girls! I have like 5 of them and so does Jacob. They look great paired with long sleeve t-shirts or button downs! And they have such a flattering fit. Totally worth the money. Shop it here now.
10. If you know Jacob, you know he has this exact hat in 3534795748 colors. I bought him this black one for his birthday this year and he loves it. He says "they fit really well." I'm not a hat person so I can't speak to that but he loves them. If you need a small gift or stocking stuffer, here you go! Shop it here now.
11. Jacob is a big griller... anyone else's husband?! This grilling kit is amazing and not to mention super affordable (under $25)! It also comes in several other colors. Shop it here now.

12. Last but not least is this super cute toiletry bag! It's under $30 and such good quality. I'm also linking a similar one in black. Great for traveling! Shop it here now.

Fall Wedding Guest Attire

Fall Weddings are HERE... So what do you wear?!

Happy Sunday guys! I am so excited to be sharing this post with you because this is always one of my number one questions asked in the Fall! Fall weddings are one of the most beautiful events that you will go to each year but a lot of people (including myself) always struggle with what to wear. My Mom and Grandmother have always encouraged me to reference etiquette books whenever I was unsure about what to wear to a wedding or similar event, so that is what I've done for you today! When in doubt, call on Emily Post. No but seriously, you won't ever regret it. Whether you're searching for what to wear to a wedding or trying to set your dining room table, she is your GO TO for all things acceptable and proper!

If you are going to a formal daytime wedding...

Wear your best cocktail or dressy afternoon dress! As for your date, make sure he wears his best dark suit with a button down shirt (and preferably a tie).

If you are going to a formal evening wedding...

Always consider the venue (indoor/outdoor/etc.) and depending on that, you should wear your favorite long/maxi dress or a cocktail dress. Your date should wear a tux if the invitation indicates "black tie" and if not, then a dark color suit will work just fine. Just a tip- when the invitation says "black tie optional," it's always best practice to dress "black tie." πŸ˜‰

So what do you wear? I'm sharing my top Fall wedding picks below! As for the length of the dress, refer to the guide above but also always remember to pick what you feel most comfortable in!

Fall Leopard Print

Don't worry I'm still here!

For those of you that keep up with my blog posts, you'll notice that I've been pretty MIA on here for the last month or so. To be honest... with school starting back, I've been trying to learn to balance everything again and really haven't gotten the chance to put much time and effort into my blog posts. So if you're reading this, thank you for being patient and sticking with me! I'm going to try and do at least one blog post per week on big topics or things that I get a lot of questions about. One of my number one requests at the end of each month is for me to share my top sellers. Almost every single one of my best sellers from August was leopard print 😍

So with that being said, today I'm going to be sharing ALL of my top favorite leopard print items for Fall! First and foremost, you guys know I'm a HUGE fan of Anna Cate Collection. When I saw this top that she just released, I absolutely had to have it. As you all know, her clothes are definitely a splurge but they are totally worth it! If you've purchased something of hers before, then I know you agree with me! All of the items are the nicest quality and are transitional from season to season. SO many different ways to style them!

This top that I am wearing is the Nina top but the print comes in two different styles! It also comes in a dress version that is STUNNING. I sized down to a small in the Nina top and it fits perfectly so I definitely recommend sizing down one size! You can shop the Nina top HERE.

Be sure to use code ADDIE15 at checkout for 15% off of the Anna Cate Collection items!

I have also rounded up LOTS of different and more affordable leopard options that you can shop here in the liketoKNOW.it app! Click HERE to shop all of them!

Summer Spending: What's Necessary?

Can you believe August is here and Fall is just around the corner?!

I don't know about you guys, but my Summer FLEW by. I love to have a schedule and I love to plan ahead for things so between planning from one weekend to the next, summer just went by way too fast. However, it was by far one of the most productive summers I've ever had! From family vacations, time with my friends, blogging adventures/content planning, to planning for going back to school, I got SO many things done and that's always a win in my book. If you are a teacher and have the summers "off," you can totally relate to what I am about to say. Having the summer off can lead to spending way too much UNNECESSARY money. Am I right or am I right? I know everyone can relate to this in some aspect but when you are a teacher and go from spending 8/9/10/11 hours at school every day to A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SCHEDULE, there is so much more opportunity to online shop and run to Target WAY more than necessary. I can't tell you how many times this summer that I have had an hour to two to spare and just decided to run to Target or TJ Maxx and bought things I totally did not need. It's fun, yes, but once that money is gone, it's gone... and that feeling isn't fun.

If you've been following me for a while,  you know that I try to keep the majority of what I post affordable or at least provide an alternative to an expensive item. Therefore, when I spend too much unnecessary money, I instantly regret it (as I'm sure we all do). When I decided to post this blog post, I shared a Q and A on Instagram asking you guys what you spent your money on this summer that was totally a waste of money and what you spent your money on that was totally worth it. Let's be honest.... sometimes a splurge or random purchase ends up being the best decision ever! While I try to keep things all things fashion and beauty, I'm going to branch out a little bit today and talk about some lifestyle related things. I'm going to share the things I purchased this summer that are total MUST HAVES and I'm going to talk about some items (not brand specific because I really don't like to talk negatively about specific items on here/don't want to offend anyone who's thoughts may be different) that I really could have gone without.

What were my unnecessary purchases? Makeup, skin care, makeup, and more makeup. I tried out SO many different makeup products this summer that I truly did not need and have not used more than once. Before trying out new makeup, I HIGHLY recommend thoroughly reading reviews and even going into the store and trying them out. Ulta is my favorite place to go for new makeup products because they actually test them out on you to see how you like them before making a purchase.

MUST HAVE Purchases that I Made:

1. Handheld Steamer- This was a TOTAL lifesaver during my summer travels. It does such an amazing job getting the wrinkles out of any fabric and only takes 2 minutes. Not to mention, it's only $19.99!

2. Fall Booties- A pair of good Fall booties are shoe closet staples! I typically splurge on one nice pair per year and these were a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchase that DID NOT disappoint! They are so comfortable and totally worth the money (under $100 during the sale). They are also true to size!

3. Sunglasses- I never regret buying a good pair of sunglasses. These are only $16 and are by far some of my favorites that I've ever owned! I got a pair of Dolce and Gabbana ones for my birthday and the style is super similar to these. They do not hurt your head and look good with everything!

4. Scout Tote- This is my favorite Summer tote because it's perfect to use as a beach bag and as a carry on! The material makes it super easy to clean so whether you get sand on it or makeup, it wipes right off. Plus, I love that you can carry this one on your shoulder!

5. Apple Watch- Yes, these are pricey but if there is one thing that's worth the money.. it's this watch! I had the Series 1 when it first came out but unfortunately it broke so I had to replace it. I got this Series 4 as a birthday gift and absolutely love it. I love buying different bands for it but the features that it comes with, you just cannot beat. Click HERE to shop my favorite Apple Watch bands!

6. Scout Large Tote- BACK TO SCHOOL PLANNING 101. This bag is a lifesaver when it comes to packing things up to take to work or back to school! I can fit SO much in it and already have mine packed up and ready to move into my new classroom this year. Totally worth the money!

7. Yeti Coffee Mug- Any other coffee lovers out there?! My husband bought me this mug when we were at the beach earlier this summer and I absolutely love it! I have several Yeti cups but this one might be my favorite so far. Plus, it's pink 😍

8. Benefit Foundation- Thanks to Ulta, I made one correct makeup purchase this summer! That is this Benefit foundation that is SO lightweight but gives you total coverage. It's perfect for all day wear and does not come off at all (especially if you set it with powder). It truly is so light that you feel like you're only wearing tinted moisturizer. I wear Shade 4!

9. Dupe Tassel Earrings- These were my favorite find from July and one of my top sellers! They are the dupe version for everyone's favorite Calypso tassel earrings. They're only $15 and look identical to the original pair that are right at $50.

10. Pants for Work/Back to School- One thing I tried really hard to do was buy things this summer that I could wear when I went back to school. These are SO comfy and I just love the gingham print because you can style them so many ways. I also found a leopard pair from Old Navy that I have also linked! Both are true to size and do not stretch throughout the day.

Nordstrom Sale Dupes

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale DUPES... This vs. That

Don't you just hate when your favorite items sell out before you can buy them?! I can't tell you how many times that I've hesitated on adding something to my cart only to change my mind, go back to buy it, and IT'S GONE. Seriously the worst feeling! I can imagine that's how a lot of us have felt during this years Nordstrom sale. I know it happened to me several times last year too! We all know that the best items sell quick during a good sale, but especially this one since there is an Early Access portion of it that not everyone can shop. HOWEVER.... stress no more about the items that you missed out on because I have found dupe items that are SUPER similar and even more affordable than the sale prices 😍

I have rounded up 5 of my favorite picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year and 5 super similar dupe items! Not all of these items are sold out from the sale, so feel free to shop them there if they're not. However if they are sold out, then the dupe is just as good- plus even more affordable!
