Valentine's Date Night

 The perfect Valentine's Day outfit

Planning Valentine's Day outfits has definitely been one of my favorite things I've done since I've started blogging 😍  SPEAKING OF VALENTINE'S DAY: UPDATE!! JACOB DOES HAVE SOMETHING PLANNED. I knew he wouldn't let me down 😂  If you read my previous Valentine's Day blog post, I talked all about some of our past Valentine's Days' together. If you didn't read it, I highly recommend checking it out HERE for some funny stories and some amazing accessories.

Red is always one of my favorite colors to wear so when I found this new top at Mary & Mak, I knew I had to style it for Valentine's Day! This style is so flattering especially the way it fits around the neck. I will say it is a little fitted so I would recommend sizing up. I am wearing the medium here (my true size) but I wouldn't have minded the large at all and it would have added some extra length at the bottom. Shop this 'Heidi Halter Neck Red Top' HERE now!

Now can we talk about how GORGEOUS these earrings are!

I know, I know... I'm obsessed with statement earrings but how cute are these?! One thing this blogging world has helped me do is make TONS of amazing connections and some even better friends! One of those connections I've made just so happens to be the designer of these adorable earrings. She hand paints every style herself and they are all so affordable. These Valentine's Day Lip Earrings are only $14 and you can shop them HERE through her Etsy page!

Thinking Spring

Can it just be spring already?!

I have had just about all of the Winter weather that I want and I'm going to need the sunshine and warmer temperatures to hurry up and get here! This past weekend I got to shoot some amazing new Spring arrivals from Madison Boutique in Raleigh and I am so excited to share some of them with you all 😍  Many of their new items were from one of my favorite brands, Buddy Love. They have the most fun and tropical looking prints that are perfect for Spring and Summer!

This top in particular is one of my favorites that I've purchased over the years from them. It's SO comfortable and lightweight and comes in several different amazing prints! It looks like it would be see through because of how thin it is but it's not at all. It also has somewhat of an oversized fit so I sized down to a small. This particular brand, Buddy Love, has amazing quality so you can get plenty of wear out of it. I'm saying that from experience because I still have Buddy Love tops that I've had since college and trust me, they have gotten their fair share of wear from both me and several of my friends 😂  (I know my roommates and I weren't the only ones that pretended we were on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants... I mean wardrobe hahaha). This particular style/print is the Avril Seagrape Top and it's available right now for $64. I have a feeling it will sell out super quick so grab it HERE now in sizes x-small through large!

Use code 'ADDIE15' at checkout on this top for my exclusive discount!

It also comes in a darker blue/purple version that is very pretty. I think this one would go great with darker hair and skin colors too! This color is called the Avril Pansy Top and it's also only $64. Shop this version HERE now!

This was another Buddy Love favorite of mine that is new at Madison! I just love this print and the lace up in the front is so fun. It also runs slightly oversized so I recommend sizing down. This top is called the Kiwi Snakeskin Tunic and it's available now in sizes S/M and M/L for $68! I am wearing the S/M so you can see how it fits on me in flats (I'm 5'3 for length reference). Shop it HERE now!

STAY TUNED FOR MORE NEW ARRIVALS FROM MADISON COMING SOON! Also, drop a comment below with some items you want to see to help get your wardrobe ready for Spring!

Winter Beauty Essentials Under $50

WINTER: Dry skin, dry hair, dry everything... Who's with me?!

If I'm being totally honest, this blog post was completely unplanned but after spending a lot of time beauty product shopping this weekend I decided that it was totally necessary to share all of my favorites right now with you! During the Winter and this super cold weather, my skin seriously suffers and I know I can't be the only one. I am constantly on the lookout for products that will help with the dryness, not only for my skin but also my hair! Lately, I have found several products that I absolutely love that you could easily use all year long. All of them are UNDER $50 and totally worth the money! These are my honest reviews of the products and ones that I use daily/weekly. I am also going to be doing some Instagram stories to share more info on these products later this week so stay tuned for that!

1. Kristen Ess Signature Shampoo

This shampoo is literally amazing. Not to mention, it's ONLY $10! One of my best friends has been using this for a while and told me about it several weeks ago. I had been complaining about how dry and dull my hair has been and that I was looking for something to help that wouldn't break the bank. Let's be honest, we all know how expensive "nice" hair products can get. I could tell a difference in the way my hair felt after using this shampoo one time. I usually only wash my hair 3ish times a week (dry shampoo 🙌  lover over here) so I can't say how this shampoo would do if you wash your hair every day, but if you're an every other day-ish kind of person like me then TRY IT! Shop it HERE now.

Now if you know me, you know I am completely incapable of getting a real tan 😂  My skin is naturally ever only two colors, snow white or pink. There is no such thing as a "sun tan" for me (pale people problems). However, I HATE being pale in the Winter so of course a product like this is totally necessary at all times. So whenever you see me with a "tan," you best believe it came straight out of a bottle.... or a spray tan booth. This stuff is seriously life changing. My roommates and I used it religiously in college and I've been hooked ever since. It's SO natural looking and if you use the applicator mitt, it's never streaky. The biggest bottle (8 oz) is $42 but it will last you a long long time! I can usually make one bottle last for 2-3 months. Shop the self tanner HERE and the applicator mitt (highly recommend) HERE now!

3. City Lips Clear Plumping Gloss

My mom got me hooked on this stuff a few months ago and I am OBSESSED. I have absolutely no idea where she found it because I have never heard of this brand but I can assure you that I'll never look for an alternative. But here's the thing, we don't use it as a plumping gloss 😂  I have a serious issue with my lipstick coming off, smearing, peeling off, etc when my lips are dry no matter how much moisture filled lipstick/chap stick I use. So when I was talking to my Mom about it one day, she told me about this stuff and what she uses it for. I honestly think she may have come up with a new invention because this is a saving grace. We put this UNDER our lipstick and I don't care how cheap or expensive your lipstick is, it DOES NOT MOVE all day! I'm telling you, you won't regret getting it. Shop it HERE (in clear- recommended) now.

I have always been a fan of the Tarte Shape Tape concealer but I have never used this stuff until now! During the Winter, I have an issue with my face being dry so I try all of these different setting/finishing products that end up making me look super oily. Typically when I finish putting my makeup on, I use a setting spray but recently I've noticed that it's making me look oily and that's something that I cannot stand. So, I did some research and decided to try using a setting powder instead of spray. I'm SO glad I did because this stuff is amazing. It's totally translucent but it helps your skin not to look shiny and it makes your makeup stay ALL day. I absolutely love it! And the best part is that just a little bit goes a super long way so it will last a long time. Shop it HERE now.

I recently saw this stuff on a commercial and not even going to lie, I originally wanted to try it because I liked how it looked (guilty of judging a book by it's cover). I decided to look a little more into it and started reading reviews and saw only good things. So naturally, I bought it. It's absolutely amazing and has done wonders for my dry skin! I didn't realize that it was two different pieces until I bought it but the orange thing in the middle is separate. However, they are sold together which is great! The orange one is for fatigue (and hydration) but there are also ones for lines & wrinkles, pores & uneven skin, and irritation. None of those really fit what I was looking for so I went with this fatigue one! However, you get to pick the one that works best for you. Shop it HERE now.

If you have tried or purchased any of these products, let me know... I'd love to hear how you like them!

Kendra Scott Spring Collection

The new Kendra Scott Spring collection is HERE at Mary & Mak!

How did you guys spend your Monday if you had the day off of work?! I will say that one of the definite perks of being a teacher is getting certain days off. I totally agree with the reason and significance behind having off for MLK Day and think that it should be a day off for everyone. However, I also know that it is a HUGE shopping day for a lot of people and a major day for many retail stores. I spent my day off online shopping and shooting some amazing content at Mary & Mak that I cannot wait to share with you all if you haven't seen some of it yet on my Instagram 😍  The most exciting thing that I got to do was shoot some of the new Kendra Scott Spring Collection that launches TODAY! I will be adding the links to all of the pieces I share this afternoon after work but for now, you can get a sneak peek of how I styled my favorites. Also, ALL of these pieces are available now for purchase or preorder at Mary & Mak!

Rose gold is HUGE this Spring in the Kendra collection! I have honestly never been a fan of rose gold but this collection has totally changed my mind. I fell in love with these earrings as soon as I saw them, along with many many many of the other styles. They will be available for PREORDER today at Mary & Mak so get your name on the list now! I am also going to be linking several other styles similar to these HERE this afternoon that are available for purchase now!

I styled these earrings with my new favorite white sweater/top! It is SO lightweight and the perfect sweater to transition into Spring. I am wearing the small here but I could have easily worn the medium to add some extra length. It's still available in sizes medium & large but it's selling super fast so grab yours HERE while you can!

I have also gotten so many questions about these Steve Madden Wrangle Wedge Sneakers so I will link them HERE since they are still available in most sizes. They are incredibly comfortable and run true to size. They also come in a black version that you can shop HERE

This gorgeous blue color is also super popular in the Spring Kendra collection this year! The stone is so lightweight and be styled so many different ways. I will be linking these earrings and necklace HERE this afternoon that are both available for purchase now at Mary & Mak! I styled these with this new black ruffle sleeve top that I will also be linking when it's available for purchase online.

Stay tuned THIS AFTERNOON for all direct links!

Winter Sweaters UNDER $100

Looking for the perfect winter sweater?!

The only thing better than finding a great sweater is finding a great sweater at an AFFORDABLE price! I have gotten so many questions and messages about sweaters lately that I decided to round up all of my favorites right now. Not to mention, every one of them that I am linking is under
$100 🙌  It's so funny how much I've been branching out when it comes to color over the past few months because my entire closet during the winter used to be black. Don't get me wrong, I still love a good black outfit but I'm glad that I'm branching out of my color box!

Here are some of my favorite sweaters lately that are sure to brighten up your winter wardrobe:

Speaking of affordable... this BP sweater is on MAJOR SALE for under $25 right now! I actually got this one for Christmas and absolutely love it. It's so soft and lightweight and perfect for layering or accessorizing with a statement necklace or scarf. It also fits true to size! Shop it HERE now.

I really love this mustard trend! This is the same sweater that I posted about this past Saturday in pink that I got SO many questions about. It's oversized and literally feels like you're wearing a blanket. Since it is so oversized, however, I recommend sizing down one or even two sizes depending on how you like it to fit. I'm usually a medium and I got a small in this sweater... but I could easily wear the x-small too. If you need something to keep you warm, this is surely it 💛  It's $75 but totally worth it! I'm really hoping they will restock the pink one for you guys but this one is also great. Shop it HERE now.

Have you purchased any Lou & Grey items yet?! If you haven't, you're really missing out. All of their items that I've seen and bought have seriously been the softest things ever. Not to mention, they are all so cute and made with the best quality. I'm also a huge fan of the striped/color block trend so if you are too, I highly suggest adding this sweater to your winter wardrobe! Shop it HERE now.

I think this is such a pretty color! I rarely see sweaters in this color so I really like how different this one is. It's also such a great style that you can wear so many different ways (with a skirt, jeans, leggings, etc.). It also comes in a really light purple color that's just as pretty in my opinion! It's on major sale now for under $50 so shop it HERE in both colors now.

This is another color block favorite of mine! It also comes in another version with black stripes that I really like. However, I love these colors together so this one is my favorite of the two options. It's only $55 and available in all sizes now that you can shop HERE

Last but not least is a pink sweater super similar to the one I posted on Saturday that I was talking about! This one definitely looks less oversized but the neck is very similar. Shop this one HERE now!

Valentine's Day Prepping

Do you have big plans this Valentine's Day?!

This is going to be our first MARRIED Valentine's Day 😍  We have absolutely nothing planned (that I know of) so far but don't worry... I'll be sure to already have my outfit planned for when Jacob decides to tell me what we're doing 😉  I honestly used to LOATHE Valentine's Day and would only wear black just to validate my hatred. Dramatic, I know. However when I started dating Jacob, I got a totally different perspective of it. From the first year we dated, he's always made it so special (flowers, fancy dinners, cards, gifts, etc.). He certainly won't let you know it, but he's extremely sweet when he wants to be 😁  Funny story.... Do you guys remember my big shoes blog post not too long ago with those leopard high heels with the huge red pom poms?! Well if you read it, you saw that I said Jacob was NOT a fan of them but being the festive person I am, I decided it would be a good idea to wear them with a red sweater to a Valentine's Day dinner he took me to a few years ago. I really didn't think I was going to get my flowers and gift that year, but I guess he overlooked them hahaha.

Anyway... I've been seeing so many Valentine's Day outfit and accessory ideas so I thought I would go ahead and do this post now so you can plan ahead! Whether you have a fancy date night planned or are spending Valentine's Day with the girls, these earrings will be the PERFECT addition to any outfit! Also, they are ALL UNDER $100!

Bri Kel Boutique 'This is my Debut' Earrings - $32

These are so fun and lightweight! They also come in lots of other colors that you can style so many ways. Shop them now from one of my favorite online jewelry boutiques, Bri Kel Boutique, in all 6 colors!

Allie Beads 'Lips' Earrings - $74

Okay... I may be the only one but I have been OBSESSED with these ever since I saw them! Jacob made so much fun of them when I ordered them... he thinks my earring selections are a little extra sometimes 😂  But clearly I'm not the only one who loves them because when I was typing up this post, I realized they were now all sold out on the Allie Beads website. However, they are still available online where I purchased mine! Cologne & Cotton Boutique (which is new and SO CUTE btw) has them available so I highly recommend snagging them while you can if you're a fan too! I just think they're so fun.

Fab Finds Boutique Hamilton Holiday Lace Earrings - $19

These are so cute and come in tons of different colors! Not to mention, they're under $20 which you cannot beat. I found them at a local boutique in Fayetteville, NC called Fabulous Finds Boutique. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking them out! But if not you can also shop all of their products online, including these earrings.

Kendra Scott Denise Statement Earrings - ON SALE NOW $94.97

Yall know I'm a HUGE Kendra Scott fan! I have these earrings in white and blue too, all of which I purchased at Mary & Mak. It's rare to find Kendra earrings like these for under $100 but HERE THEY ARE! Despite their size, they are super lightweight and you can even remove the bottom tassel to make them shorter. Shop them now for this great price in several colors while you can!

Allie Beads 'Nestling' Earrings - $84

I just posted about these in our honeymoon blog post as I'm sure many of you saw! I got SO many compliments on them in the Bahamas and I think they are also perfect for Valentine's Day, especially if you're going on vacation! They are so fun and different and I just love all of the detail. Shop them now in pink, black, or bronze.

Lisi Lerch Gold Tassel Earrings - $98

Everyone loves Lisi Lerch's original tassel earrings! I also posted about these in our honeymoon post but they are perfect for any holiday occasion. You can dress them up with pink or red for Valentine's Day OR if you aren't into colors, they pair perfectly with black or white. Shop them now from the Pink Monogram

Our Honeymoon

Our Honeymoon: Exuma, Bahamas

To start off, I truly don't think I can put into words how beautiful of a place this was or how much fun we had. I also want to say that pictures don't at all do it justice but I will do my best to show you how amazing it was! I also want to say that no part of this post is sponsored in any way, it's just my true feelings about every aspect of our experience.

For those of you that don't know, Jacob and I chose Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma, Bahamas for our honeymoon and we could not have made a better choice. From the time we got there to the time we left, we were blown away by how beautiful everything was, how great the food was, and how accommodating and nice all of the staff were. We have stayed at a few all inclusive resorts in the Bahamas before and NONE of them compare to Sandals. I have always heard great things about Sandals but now I can honestly say for myself that I would recommend staying at one of their locations every time if you are looking for a tropical and all-inclusive vacation. Everything about the resort was SO pretty, but I think the views of the sunsets were my favorite part. Also, I have never seen water so blue in my life 😍

Food:

Jacob and I are two of the pickiest eaters that I know and we both actually loved ALL of the food. We tried local seafood, American food, Japanese food, sushi, authentic Indian food, authentic Italian food, and authentic French food and were not disappointed with one single meal. Of course, the hibachi was my favorite (because I'm a huge hibachi lover) but the seafood and Indian were close seconds. If you have specific questions about any of the food/restaurants at the resort, leave a comment below but here were some of our favorites:

(And yes, we basically ate our way through the trip 😂)

Now for my FAVORITE part... SWIMMING WITH THE PIGS!

This was one of the main reasons we chose Exuma to be honest. Me more so than Jacob but we both really enjoyed it! We booked the excursion through Sandals but it was with a private company called Exuma Water Sports. They were THE BEST people! If you travel to Exuma, Sandals or not, you definitely should do this excursion because it is 100% worth your money. At first, we thought that we were paying to only swim with the pigs plus the boat ride to and from the pig island. However, we were completely wrong! The excursion is about 4 hours long and in addition to swimming with the pigs, you get to visit 2 different islands (the pig island and an iguana island), 2 additional beaches, snorkel or just float around in a beautiful reef, and get to see privately owned islands and celebrity mansions. It truly was so much fun and I highly recommend doing it whether you're interested in the pigs or not!

It was honestly a little scary at first because when you pull up on the boat, the pigs know you're going to feed them so they immediately swim out to you as fast as they can! I know this one baby pig is small but all the other ones are HUGE. They look like they could easily kill you in one bite or with one kick but they are harmless! All you have to do to get them away from you is splash them with water, and trust me you have to do that a lot because they want all of the attention (or really just the food) 😂  The tour guides had no idea the baby pigs had been born so they were a pleasant surprise to everyone! I really wanted to bring one home with me but unfortunately that wasn't allowed... by both the Bahamas and Jacob. It was a once in a lifetime experience that's for sure and I loved every single minute. If we ever go back, I will DEFINITELY do it again!

Any fellow Bachelor/Bachelorette fans?! Well if you are, you'll definitely recognize this beach from Ben's season a few seasons back! This is the exact spot where he left the poor girl stranded on the island (with the camera crew) when he didn't propose. The tour guides love to tell you all about it 😂  That aside, it's one of the neatest places I've ever been!

Our last stop on the excursion was the iguana island. I'll go ahead and tell you, they did NOT save the best for last in my opinion because I was not a fan of these things. They are more harmless than the pigs because they are probably more afraid of you than you are of them... I'm just not a huge reptile fan. Some people were picking them up and feeding them grapes out of their hand but I passed on that. I tossed a view of them grapes but I made sure I was a pretty good distance away when doing so. However, I will say it was a really cool thing to see and experience!

I didn't get any pictures of the reef we snorkeled in because I had no idea we were doing that so I didn't take an underwater camera. However, it was BEAUTIFUL. I had never been snorkeling before somewhere like that so I really enjoyed it!

Honeymoon Outfit Details:

This dress is about 3 or 4 years old but I have been IN LOVE with it since it first came out! I have wanted it forever but it retails for like $300 and I just wasn't up for paying that. Luckily for me, I found it on Poshmark with the tags still on it for $65 in my size right before our trip 🙌  It's a Mara Hoffman dress and you can still find it in several sizes on Ebay and Poshmark! I actually found one that I am going to link HERE (size large).

Other/Similar Tropical Dresses UNDER $100:

Red Dress Boutique Tropical Print Maxi / Revolve Mini Dress / Shein Tropical Off the Shoulder Dress (ONLY $17)

You can also shop SALE Mara Hoffman dresses HERE

This is the most perfect pink dress that you can read all about HERE in my previous blog post! It's one of my Anna Cate Collection favorites that I purchased this past summer and featured in one of my very first blog posts.

I am also wearing everyone's favorite Lisi Lerch tassel earrings in gold! You can shop them HERE through the link in their Instagram bio.

This top is another personal favorite of mine that is a few years old! It's Show Me Your Mumu from Bevello like 3 years ago and I've gotten SO much wear out of it since. This is the old SMYM Lady Luau Print but you can shop ALL of their new/sale items in a variety of tropical and floral prints HERE

How fun are these Allie Beads Nestling earrings?! They come in 3 different colors but I was so excited when I found the pink ones for our trip! I cannot wait to style them even more this coming summer. Shop them HERE in all 3 colors now for under $100.

Last but not least is this tropical two piece set! I got SO many questions and messages about this outfit when I posted it a few days ago. I bought it from Mary & Mak about 6 months ago specifically for our trip. It's unfortunately no longer available BUT in March, they are getting ALL new spring and summer items that I cannot wait to see! I'll be sharing those with you ASAP once the time is closer but for now I am going to link similar tropical two piece sets below:

Option 1 / Option 2 / Option 3 / Option 4 (MOST similar) / Option 5
