HUGE SALE ALERT: New Spring Arrivals at Madison

Who else is LOVING all of the new prints/patterns that are coming out this Spring?! I have been seeing SO many fun and bright colors that are perfect for beach/tropical vacations that you have coming up this Spring and Summer!

As many of you know, I collaborate with Madison Boutique (located in Cameron Village in Raleigh) from time to time and recently got the opportunity to promote their NEW SPRING ARRIVALS THAT ARE ALL 30% OFF TODAY ONLY IN STORE AND ONLINE! All of the items I'm featuring are available HERE on their website under the New Arrivals tab and in store. I have shared several of them this week but wanted to go more into detail about the fit and how I style them.

As I just mentioned, they are all 30% off TODAY ONLY but after today, you can shop them ANYTIME using code 'ADDIE15' at checkout for my exclusive discount code!

This pastel Buddy Love dress is TO DIE FOR! It's most definitely my favorite new arrival that I'm sharing with you guys. As you can tell from the picture, it is a little bit on the shorter side. However, I am wearing 4" wedges with it AND you can adjust the straps to make it longer. They untie on the shoulders so you can adjust them however you like. I recommend sizing down when shopping this dress because it is a shift dress and has plenty of room for movement. I'm wearing the Small here and I typically wear a Medium in dresses.

This is another Buddy Love print that I am loving! I honestly love all things with palm leaves so I couldn't go wrong with this one. I also recommend sizing down one or even two sizes in this top because it has a very oversized fit. I'm wearing the Small here and still have plenty of extra room. This could also be worn as a cover up over your bathing suit and I will definitely be using it as one in addition to styling it like this! It's the perfect piece to pack for a beach trip/tropical vacation because you can style it like I did here at night or wear it out as a cover up during the day... so many options!

Y'all know I am a HUGE fan of all kinds of leopard print so I had to pick this dress! This is a Moon River dress, which is another brand that I love and have shopped many times before. The quality of it is amazing and there are so many different ways you could style it. It has a more true to size fit and is very flattering, especially with the waist synched on the side. I'm wearing the medium here.

Anddddd another Buddy Love! If you can't tell, they are one of my favorite brands especially in the Spring and Summer. They always have the most fun and bright prints that are perfect for warm weather! I sized down to a Small in this because it does have a boxy fit. I just love the pattern and the ruffle detail at the top! It would also be cute with denim or white shorts for the Summer.

Last but not least is this adorable floral peplum top! Red is one of my favorite colors to wear but I feel like you don't see it very much outside of Fall and Winter. That was the main reason that I loved this top because I'm always so drawn to pink during the warmer months and I never think about wearing red. Plus, it's always good to mix things up a little bit. It's true to size and a good length for any type of jeans/pants! It also doesn't have a low cut neck line so you could throw a cardigan over it and wear it to work.

Calling All Brides to Be

Choosing the Perfect White Outfit:

Throughout my wedding festivities, all I wanted to wear was white, white, white. While I know this isn't the same for everyone, I know it is the case for some! I mean you're engaged and getting MARRIED, be proud to wear white while you have the perfect excuse to ๐Ÿ˜White honestly isn't a color that I wore much of prior to getting engaged, but let me tell you... my closet filled up with it from December 2017 to November 2018 (oops). I know a lot of people are hesitant to wear white because they are pale (like me) but that's what they make self-tanner and spray tans for so it's time to come up with another excuse! When you have a good tan (whether it's real or fake), white is the prettiest color you can wear in my opinion. So even if you aren't a bride to be, you should check out some of the items in this post!

Today I am going to share my favorite white outfits that are perfect for dressier occasions (showers, indoor bridal events, etc.) and more casual occasions (honeymoon attire, outside bridal events, etc.).

All of the items I'm sharing are linked HERE in the liketoKNOW.it app!

This new white Boho Beauty Dress from Mary & Mak is to die for and UNDER $50! I was a little hesitant at first because I thought it was going to be see through but it's really not at all. However, if you still feel like it is/would be, you can wear Spanx shorts under it and your problem will be solved. It's such a versatile dress because you can easily dress it up or down. I think it would be great for bridal events this Spring/Summer if you are a bride to be. If not, I think it's a great go to dress for beach trips! I am wearing the small here so I recommend sizing down because it does have more of an oversized/boxy fit. MAKE SURE to use code 'ADDIE15' at checkout when shopping this dress

Some other Mary & Mak white options if you are not a fan of dresses:

Blair Ruffle Romper | A Time to Remember Romper

This adorable ruffle dress from Red Dress Boutique is SO cute and I just love the back! I think this would be perfect for a Spring bridal shower and even one into the Summer. The ruffles make it just dressy enough! Not to mention, it's under $60. Shop it here now.

How perfect is this next dress for a casual bridal event outside?! I think it would be perfect for any kind of cook out, BBQ, etc. It would also be perfect for a casual night out to dinner at the beach/on vacation! Plus, if it's chilly outside, it would look so cute with a denim jacket layered over top! T-shirt type dresses are closet staples for me during the spring/summer no matter what color they are. Shop this one here for under $50 now!

This next dress is perfect for more dressy occasions (rehearsal, bridal showers, engagement party, etc). I have seen this style featured in so many places lately and it just looks so flattering! If you are not a fan of white/not looking for a white dress, it also comes in several other colors that are perfect for Spring. They would also be good options if you are attending a wedding this Spring! Shop it here now for under $100!

I am huge fan of slip/shift type dresses so this next one is one of my favorites! I think they are so flattering for all body types and the lace detail just adds to this one. Depending on what time of year you are having your bridal shower, this would be a great dress to wear in the Spring or Summer. This is also another dress that comes in several other colors if you aren't looking for white. Shop it here now for under $60!

White Dresses I Wore:

This is the Lilly Pulitzer dress that I wore to my bridesmaids luncheon! The exact one is linked in my liketoKNOW.it post

This dress was one of my absolute favorites! I purchased it from Bevello and it's a wrap dress style, which I think is so flattering. I wore this to one of my bridal showers.

This is probably my favorite white dress EVER. It's an Anna Cate Collection and also comes in several other colors! It's unfortunately sold out for now in white but it's still available HERE in red. I wore this to our rehearsal dinner and after rehearsal party. I also linked a similar Lilly Pulitzer that you can shop here

This is an old Tularosa dress that I can unfortunately no longer find! However, I will link some other similar styles. I wore this one to our engagement party! I also got tons of questions about my Mom's dress. Her's is Alice and Trixie and I will try to find it to link also!

Drug Store Makeup Favorites

The best makeup products to shop at your local drug store

Makeup can be SO EXPENSIVE, am I right?! Yes, I agree that sometimes expensive products really are worth the money but sometimes it's nice to be able to find a product that's just as good and doesn't break the bank. Today I wanted to share my favorite drug store makeup products with you that are perfect for every day looks. They are all available at your local Walmart, which is my go to makeup spot when I'm in a hurry and need to grab something quick.

1. This L'oreal powder is AMAZING. I also love their liquid foundation but this powder works wonders for helping your makeup stay in place all day. I use a big foundation brush to apply this powder over top of my liquid foundation to take away the shine and give my face a matte finish. I also sometimes wear it by itself (without liquid foundation under it) if I'm going for a more bare/casual makeup look. It stays in place all day and I typically only have to touch it up once around my nose, if at all!

2. If you can't tell from my pictures, I love nude lipstick. I honestly hate bright lipstick on me more than anything in the world. Some people can pull it off so perfectly but unfortunately I'm not one of those people. Therefore, these nude tones/colors are all you are going to get from me.. so sorry ๐Ÿ˜‚Revlon lipstick is one of my favorites, even compared to the more expensive brands I have (Mac, Stila, Chanel, etc). Plus, it stays on so well and does not smear! I have linked my two favorite nudes but you can also shop many different colors through the same link if you aren't a nude color person!

3. This is the BEST eyeliner in my opinion. I've honestly never tried expensive eyeliner because I am horrible at putting it on so I've never wanted to waste my money on a super nice one. However, whether I'm good at eyeliner or not, there's no reason for me to look for another kind! I've never had issues with this one smearing or running and I've been using this exact kind since high school when I first started wearing it. And by wearing it, I mean wearing it the "correct" way and not my "middle school makeup way." ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don't wear eyeliner on the top (unless I get my makeup done) but every time you see me wearing it on the bottom, this is the kind I have on. I wear the darkest color ('black onyx' is the name I believe!).

4. This is a newer product for me so I am still kind of experimenting with it! However, I love the results I've gotten so far. It does a great job of brightening up my face for every day wear. I got the color 'shimmer' because of that brightening factor and I highly recommend it. The reason I like this for everyday makeup is because on a normal day, I don't take the time to contour and highlight my face like I would if I was going out/to an event. So, this powder helps to give me that highlighted/brightened look without having to take up much time when getting ready!

5. Eyebrows... my best and worst friend. Y'all I am still trying to get with this "perfect eyebrow" trend because I am not good at doing my own at all. I've gotten my makeup done so many times and every time, I try to take notes on how to do my eyebrows like they do and never can seem to make them look as good when I do them myself. Anyone else have that problem?! It's so funny to me that no one used to think twice about eyebrows (other than the occasional/necessary waxing) and now they are ALL the rage. Don't get me wrong, they can make you look SO much better... I just unfortunately am not good at doing mine! However, I recently got this 'blonde' eyebrow pencil and it's helped me so much! I use the brush on one end first to brush them upwards and then use the pencil to fill them in. It really is a great product and only $7 (especially if you're like me and still learning how to do your eyebrows ๐Ÿ˜‚).

6. This is my FAVORITE bronzer. I actually saw one of my favorite makeup bloggers use this recently in one of her makeup tutorial videos and went straight to the store and bought it because of the results she had with it. I got the 'champagne' color but there are also several other colors to choose from if you like more a blush or colorless finish rather than bronze. I use it at the top of my forehead (almost in my hairline), on my cheek bones, and on my jaw bones. It's amazing and totally worth the $11-12 for every day wear! Also, a little goes a long way so you don't have to use much to get the bronze color you want.

7. I have recently become a fan of liquid eyeshadow and this is one of the best kinds I've used! I've posted about my favorite Stila one before but this one is also great and not so dramatic/sparkly. It's great for every day wear because it's very neutral but still gives you a good amount of noticeable color. I sometimes apply more eyeshadow over top of it but usually I just leave it by itself!

8. This is a great contour palette if you don't want such a dramatic contour like you would sometimes do if you were dressing up more. I use the lighter color under my eyes and down the bridge of my nose and the darker color at the top of my forehead (almost in my hairline), on my cheek bones, and on my jaw bones. It has a matte finish so if you want some shimmer on the darker parts, I sometimes apply a small amount of the Butter Highlighter over top of it.

9. This is one of my favorite concealers! Not even going to lie, I carry this one around in my purse just in case I have a sudden break out... because let's be honest it happens to the best of us at the worst of times. This concealer does a great job of covering up fast and has a great amount of coverage! I also use it under my eyes in the morning before applying my foundation.

Spring Wedding Guest Attire

Spring Weddings:
You got your invitation in the mail but now... what do you wear?!

Weddings are one of the most fun events to attend all year around but they are also one of the most stressful events to plan outfits for. I know I can't be the only one who thinks so! Whether you are best friends/related to the bride and groom or not, you still want to look your best and have on the appropriate attire. Spring weddings are also set in a time where it's not too hot but not too cold so you're stuck trying to decide... do I need to wear a dress that looks more like winter or more like summer? Trust me I've been there and still have those thoughts every time I get a wedding invitation in the mail!

So, what is the proper etiquette for wedding guest attire anyway? My Mom & I LIVED by the Emily Post Wedding Etiquette Book during my wedding planning so I'm going to share her thoughts on this topic with you. Speaking of Emily Post, whether you are attending a wedding or planning a wedding, I HIGHLY recommend getting this book because other than an actual wedding planner, it's the most helpful resource you can have (and much less expensive)!

Emily Post Wedding Guest Attire:

Spring wedding guest attire is also one of the most requested topics that I've gotten to do a blog post on! So today I'm rounding up my favorite dresses/jumpsuits/rompers that are perfect for Spring weddings and even some Summer weddings that you have coming up.

And the best part is, THEY ARE ALL UNDER $100!
